George Haggerty Memorial Ride

George’s final wish is to go on a final motorcycle ride with his family and friends and release his ashes and be forever blowing in the wind. Please join his Family as we fulfill his final wish. The ride is scheduled for Sunday June 2nd at 1pm. A rain date will be the following Sunday June 9th at 1 pm. 

The following is the route we will take:

•      We will meet at 1 pm at the Municipal Center in Jacksonville VT (Whitingham Town Clerk’s Office)
•      We’ll head Southeast on VT RT 100S toward Gates Pond Rd (the center of Jacksonville)
•      Turn left onto Gates Pond Rd
•      Head Northeast on Gates Pond Rd
•      Follow Gates Pond Rd straight onto Collins Rd into Halifax VT
•      Follow Collins Rd straight onto Branch Rd
•      Head South on Branch Rd toward VT-RT 112N
•      Turn right onto VT-RT 112N
•      About 4.5 miles on VT-RT 112N we will pass George’s house (a big red house on the left) Please honk your horns as you go by
•      Follow VT-RT 112N into the center of Jacksonville toward VT-RT 100N
•      Turn left onto VT-RT 100N
•      Head Northwest on VT-RT 100N toward VT-RT 9 in Wilmington
•      Turn left onto VT-RT 9W
•      Head West on VT-RT 9W toward the center of Wilmington
•      Go straight through the traffic light in the center of Wilmington
•      Continue on VT-RT 9W toward High Country Marine (about 2 miles on the left from the traffic lights)
•      About 500 yards past High Country Marine turn left onto Oxbow Loop
•      Follow the loop to the boat launch for Harriman Reservoir

We will release George’s ashes off the boat launch dock into the lake. George enjoyed riding his motorcycle on this route many times and often rode to the lake to watch the boats.
