2024 Mileage Contest Winner: Jane Bixby

Jane lead the MOV with 17,123 miles ridden in 2024. Here is her story:

When I received the news that I won the MOV high mileage contest for 2024 I was pleasantly surprised. The first thought that came to my mind was our good friend Muriel. The past few years she would log a few more miles than me. I often think of her! An amazing woman, may she rest in peace.
2024 was not the most miles I’ve covered in a year, but it was a fun year!

The year began in June with a trip to the MOA Rally in Oregon from Vermont. Some of the highlights of that trip were the zippo lighter museum in Pennsylvania, the world’s largest truck stop in Iowa, Stonehenge in Maryhill, Washington, Lolo Pass (with snow at the top) Idaho/lMontana, The Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming, Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, Yellowstone, pasties in Michigan and some roads in southern Canada.

A girl’s ride to Quebec City with stops at Foresta Lumina and the world’s longest suspension foot bridge in Coaticook and Ausable Chasm in New York.
A ride to Mount Washington, NH to get a burger for lunch.
A ride to the Maine/NH coast for a lobster roll.
Then there were many adventurous days of chasing Coddiwomple points.; the Catskills of NY, key west, Florida, NH, CT, MA, VT, CO, PA, NV, OH, IN, IL, NE, SD, MN, and WI.
My year end with a magnificent guided tour of Morocco with IMT Bike Tours. What an awesome company!

Get out and enjoy “life behind bars” while you can! The miles add up quickly!
